Embrace You
Early teens, mid-twenties
Who are you?
You thought you knew.
Finding yourself, and who you like
Noticing your different
And not alike.
You like girls
You like boys
The confusion, annoys.
With teared up emotions
Rippling your heart,
You can’t figure out
Where to start.
Confirming your gay
Is okay.
Embrace who you are
Everyday.
People will love you
People will care,
The ones that don’t
Will just stare.
Be proud of you
Hold your head up high,
As far as it will go,
Reach for the sky.
Love, who you love,
and be yourself
don’t be scared
to be oneself.
Believe, in who you are,
My thoughts are with you
From afar.
