Embrace the Night

With peace in your heart, embrace the night Relish diamonds twinkling like pointillist art Find your special place, stifle not your sigh Embrace the night with peace in your heart. Write a poem based on your heavenly vision You can’t dismiss the experience as ho-hum Something magical happens among the stars Based on your heavenly vision, write a poem. Envision, if you can, the galaxies so far beyond Our Milky Way, as you allow your eye to scan The planets residing in their appointed places The galaxies so far beyond envision, if you can. Realize how small we are in the cosmic schema And never forget there are greater than, by far, We who gaze up into the universe’s wonders In the cosmic schema, realize how small we are.

Nice! ... And I am going to take your advice to heart, Milt. I am going to write a poem based on my heavenly vision. (Even if I do wear thick-rimmed specs! lol) Thanks! ~ gw

The night sky never ceases to amaze me and I often go out on a clear night and stand in awe at the heavens above. You're right though, we are but grains of sand in the grand scheme of things. Hope you have an enjoyable weekend Milton. Tom

Thank you, Tom. The night sky helps me to understand what J. B. Phillips meant by "your God is too small!"
