Embrace

As i cry, my eyes are opened,
a memory of you, burns inside my soul.

I drop to my knee's, your truth surrounds me,
for in my sorrow, again I am lost.

My heart fills with your voice,
even through my silence.

I stand again, to see your mercy,
to rise over, all that I am.

The faith you gave me, is my only hope,
as it again, shines through my darkness.

Your forgiveness, is my hearts song,
your spirit moves in me, as I lift my burdens.

With your power from above, I can stand,
to be restored, your joy I find.

I search my soul, for your peace,
finding forever, your unconditional love.

Your blood is my shield, a blessing to me,
for I have done nothing, to deserve your grace.

So I am thankful, my life is yours,
your words I cherish, your love I embrace.

Here I am again, are you stuck with a lack of ideas? This reminds me of psalm 51, have you read it lately? One of the very best. Miss you John! Love, Elizabeth

This is like a Psalm of David...he asks the Lord to search his soul and see if there is any wicked way in him..I like how you pray a prayer of thanksgiving..a great place to be spiritually..especially when the holidays have so much power to leave us feeling empty when they've closed...not sure if u liked my limerick..did u mean it didn't sound like writer's block to u for my entry? I am working on a Deal Breaker write this afternoon....it's a bit naughty but the topic lends itself to that. ;)

Hi, John~ ;-) Your words here really touch a memory of longing... I had a dream one time, where i was embracing the warmth and comfort of my mother... but, she is gone now... The weird thing is,, that she never gave me nothing to cherish... In my heart I know that she loved me.. And God, will always be there for me in all my sorrow. He is my shield, and without his love~ i would of never felt my mothers warmth in my dream. I am going speechless... on how your poems get to me~ in a good way,..p.d

How dear can a love poem be. You poured your heart and soul into this and the last two lines tell a story in it alone. So enjoyed reading this John. P S What's that on your head in that sweet picture of you? P S again - thanks for your visit and kind words Luv, Lizzt
