"Good morning," she softly whispered, thinking he'd spoken at her side. Then, Truly closed her eyes hoping to dream of him again. Sleep refused her desire to return to him in his rose garden. She tossed and turned, reached for the pillow that should be cradling his head. Frustrated, Truly rose and sat on the cold hearth, stirring embers to give life to the fire. Staring into the flames, she recalled his affectionate words as he held her hand when they'd walked in the snow. She tried to hold her tears in check, but her emotions would not be denied. Moonlight shown on her through the window, but she refused to look at it, for it only brought back memories of what they'd once shared. snowflakes in the night stirred memories in her heart ~ embers burned to ash

As always Lin, so beautifully written and heartfelt, a reality in your dreams until you wake, and the sadness of realising it's what your heart craves, desires and misses, sleep refuses you the one place you Truly want to be, it's a heartbreaking reality for so many of us and a fave for me also. Another wound to the heart, another tear falls down a cheek, another snow globe cracked. Hearts can be greedy and want what they have no claim to. Thank you for seeing through Truly's eyes, Danny.

Dear Ink, your appreciation of this writing is important to me. Thank you for feeling what I felt when creating these lines... the grieving for what once was beautiful.

a softly sad Haibun, garnished with a very poignant haiku. Beautifully written Lin, had me sniffing back an emotion. I shall add this to my FAVES...
