Elusive Calm

I seek calmness and peace of mind And find it somewhat elusive to me Seems they delight in being hard to find When one occupies oneself with worry And never knows what is meant to be.

I told another teacher that I stopped worrying long ago because worrying hurts me and helps no one else. She thanked me over and over again; this was today, which is why I was relating to this one immediately.

So true, Caren. I have to say my worries are few and far between. I've taught myself not to sweat the small stuff and take care of business.

It can be quite difficult to locate and hold onto. My mother used to sing to me: "que sura sura whatever will be will be, the futures not ours to see, que sura sura". It helped as a child, but is quite hard to follow as an adult. Bill

"The future's not ours to see...," and yet we have such a role in determining what it will be, I think. I loved that song by Doris Day (who, incidentally, gave up fame and fortune to run a pet shop, giving her time to animals) hmmmm.....

Thank you so much, Alexis. It is good to be back after a hiatus. We all need a little rest now and then. In my case, I could use a lot of it!!!!
