Elusive
ELUSIVE
On wordy flight
I see you rise...
Like clouds,
Like ships on wave-less seas,
You sail on endlessly.
But then one day
I snatched your wing...
Of thought,
Of need to fill a lasting yearn.
I must cage your prism.
Caressing all your wonder
I’m awestruck, spellbound.
Captivating, anticipating
The motion of your spirit.
As you fly in silence
The soaring makes me breathless.
Take me on a quest
Beyond illusion.
Inside no motion,
No being.
A thought,
A need to fill the void.
Vertigo and I swoon.
As I stand and marvel
An image takes form.
Iridescent, opalescent,
A magnet of colour.
Then, only for a moment
The pulsing spectrum parted
I saw a vision of my soul
A time not yet here.
