Ellipsis

we stopped the car on the corner, about a minute or two and through the wet window we watched the movement of that ordinary afternoon, people running to their destinations, umbrellas open, cars everywhere and at that moment a dismay hits us in full, it's just something people feel, we think, the feeling that nothing really matters, a lack of interest in everything, the irrelevance of going home or going halfway across the world, we know tomorrow will look like and if right now a plane crashed next door, we wouldn't give a damn, the boring music on the radio is the cheap frame of this poorly made painting, so you realize how much a simple phone call is missing, something that brings a certain balance, you understand what I mean, something that changes the frequency of this vibration, a jolt that turns back on the warm light of good days, provides an extensive sip of colorful joys, allows the teeth to bite a morsel of the fruits of the earth, gift us ing with the sweet smell and the calm voice of our dear deceased grandparents, make the naive and old relationships resurrect so that they finally become eternal, our bodies shining in the sea at seventeen, the first day of summer vacation, friends screaming happily with our arrival, you know as well as I do that at the end of all things there should be reticence...
