Election Day Blues

Election day is a short time away, And each candidate has pretty much had their say. So now the ball is in our court and we must choose, As to whom will lead this country’s next four year cruise. One offers change while the other offers truth, So search your heart while you’re in that booth. The one with the experience seems to be trailing right now, While the other mesmerizes his followers and I don’t see how! The man that I choose would take a bullet for me, And never stop fighting to keep this nation free. Question, how can you be Commander and Chief, If you’ve never been in the service, Good Grief? How can you tell someone how it tastes if you’ve never taken a bite? And we need a proven warrior to end this fight. Please use common sense when you cast that vote, A lot is at stake, and a wrong choice may not have an antidote!!!!

If only we knew the truth about everything, the whole truth, not just bits of the truth. I believe in order to command, one should have served his country, that makes a whole lot more sense to me...this is going to be like a marriage between a couple that met in a bar, and he married her not knowing one thing about her, and when he sobered up, he had married a rough woman, his life was miserable....now she owns half of everything he had....hummm always, Christy

So much truth in your words. And yes, there is a lot at stake. I'm worried about this election and am praying God will see us through this next four years. Thank you for sharing this well-written and timely poem with us. Karen

nice sentiment, but unless you've already been the President of the United States, you have no experience as POTUS (Preisident Of The United States) I personally have nothing against anyone who has served in the armed services but having been a soldier is not enough experience to hold a position that requires more than the knowledge of how to handle a weapon. just my opinion. love always, louise nelson

Bottom line, no one really cares about the truth right now. That will come into play down the road a bit...We have a mess, and I would not have the job of trying to clean it up for money or power. I pray God steps in the middle of all this, and then something will be done. God has been cast aside, and when He has had enough, then He will take over. This is my belief on this mess. I'm sure this will bea controversial view but good for you. The rhyming is very good without being silly.
