Eire Mo Chroi

My country is Ireland so green.
I am it's poetry queen.
So much to admire,
my muse is on fire.
Inspired by beautiful scenes.

Today we celebrate St Pat.
I'll be wearing green for that.
Like it always would,
the craic will be good.
With my shillelagh and crooked hat.

Hi Sunshine! Not so sunny here today. Already we have four seasons since morning. Guess that's what makes us green.

But for some inconsistencies in syllable counts, this was a fun poem to read, Jean. Congratulations on your win! There were many great entries and judging is always a challenge. Best wishes, Carolyn

Good morning Carolyn and thank you for the placement. I use Howmanysyllables. com. However, knowing my track record, mistacks are made (as above) on a regular basis.

I like this one. We need to be vigilant in keeping our green areas. Trees breath new life and hope. Just reading article of man who passed away here in NZ. he planted 7000 trees on family property. A lot of them Oaks - big number of rare Mexican Oaks that he grew from acorns (biggest acorns in in oak family - size of small apple). Best regards David in NZ

I lived in Harewa for 8 months David. All those sheep grazing on all that green grass helped keep me from being homesick.

For some reason an Irish song comes to mind Viv. The words are "Says I says she, says she says I, says I says she says I" and repeat.Daddy used to sing it.

Yes Tom, that hairpin trip into Dingle and Brandon beach are spectacular. Mum and Dad did that circuit for their funnymoon in 1955.
