beautiful Sara my birdbath seldom freezes yes we do not get harsh winters like you due partly to the gulf stream but certainly the bitter winds and the constant rain

Shadow, the constant rain and bitter wind especially combined would be very hard. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Paul, those birds were looking quizzically like what is this on this water. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Yes, Vijay. It is nice to have surprise visits from birds this time of year. We have goldfinches that come through at the beginning of fall to early winter and I don't see them again until Spring. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Paula, they just needed some water to drink this morning and it was frozen and they could not break the ice to get a sip. If I went out there they would have flown away and probably would not come back so I waited until they left then poured in some hot water, but they did not come back. I hope tomorrow they will visit again. I will go out earlier to thaw up the water. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

SO, I am not on top of it this year because I am not as energetic as I used to be. I would like to be, but alas age takes its toll. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Quite an exquisite haiku, Sara. The imagery of the birdbaths that you described is effective well here. Well done

Awwn, that's such a beautiful haiku, dear Sara.. Those eight a.m. birdbaths, ahh, really wash the frost away.. That's so kind of you to give them some warmth.. It's such a heart-melting scene to watch.. As I notice from your haiku poems, I sense that you have a very empathetic heart towards birds and nature.. Sending you so much love, light and also many best wishes for the New Year :)

Yes, Hiya. I do like most of the birds and animals God has made, but sometimes humans not so much. LOL.. No, I like humans but they, including myself can be disappointing. Birds and animals do what they are designed to do like eat, have young, and stay in their boundaries not so much humans. Thanks for dropping by. Your visits add a special touch. Sara K
