Egypt 1996
I have stood in wonder and disbelief before the mystories of the world Climbed into the Grand Gallery and found my way into the Kings chamber And stood motionless in the grest pyramid of Gaza I have decended beneath the earth in the valley of the Kings Vissited Memphis and taken a haunting stroll in the Temple of Karnac I have looked upon the golden mask of Tutuncommon And felt uneasy on the streets of Cairo It was a once in a life time adventure and I will not pass that way again But it will live in my heart forever The people in the market place The horse drawn carts The children hoping a kind stanger will give them something And the call to prayer set against the armed police escorting our bus I made an effort to understand Because I truly was a stranger in a strange land Hoping to bring home something more than souveniers
