Eggs Up Cookies Down

Egg prices are cracking the ceiling, as, not too well, the birds are feeling, but you won't see me wear a frown, as cupcakes and cookies have gone down.

Do they still use eggs in cupcakes? Bakers probably get first dibs. I enjoy your poem.

Actually, I've never made cupcakes, so I don't know about that. They are good, but a bit sweet for me. On the other hand, if they're chocolate - watch out. Then, I would have to be chained up, or placed in a cage.

But... don't you need eggs to bake them? Oh wait! You're doing Hostess and Oreo, right?

Haha, that's a good question. This poem was based on an article I saw on my phone this morning, which actually listed cookies and cupcakes as having gone down in price, if I skimmed it right. Now that you mention it, I'm thinking that maybe it was grains that dropped in price, and the journalist used poetic license to translate that to cookies and cupcakes. I do a fair amount of baking, and most of it uses eggs, though, I have a pretty good eggless recipe for pancakes and scones. Hmm, I think I might be going into too much detail.

I think it was Floridians, on the news, asking to keep backyard chickens. It is always wild what a year brings.

Strangely enough, for years, my brother has raised chickens in his yard, but that's another story. Maybe, it's finally paying off.

Hi David. I'll gladly trade you 2 dozen eggs for a dozen cookies.

Haha, hi Lin, that sounds like a decent exchange rate - but the cookies are already gone! This conversation is sure making me hungry.
