Eddy and Nicola

                   Nicola Tesla
                    fashioned
an elixir for free electricity for the masses.
                   Eddie Grant
                       sang
               about the hardships
of the poor, the oppressed, the desperate.

Decades separated the two of them
but they strolled down Electric Avenue
          hearts beating in unison.

       The elixir quickly vanished
Nicola passed away in a flophouse- penniless
             his vision unrealized
Eddy still wails about toxic social problems
              largely unresolved.
