Ecumenically Yours
I make no excuses for the way I feel or what I believe
nor do I adhere to everything I've been taught
I believe in goodness, kindess, mercy, from above and below
and its when I meet nature that I find my religious afterglow;
I make no excuses for the way I behave
yes I walk with a limp but thats because
I escaped from Alcatraz :
So, if and when I choose a religion,
ITS NOBODYS BUSINESS BUT MY OWN
If I have Faith, its not because of a preacher,
but because of a teacher who once died,
to set me free.
When I see Buddha and Christ link arms and smile,
then I will know that I have found, my heaven.
