Notes About The Poem

Ecstasy, Sheer Ecstasy

I yearn for ecstasy
A feeling profound
that makes my heart
Beat fast, too fast.
I look around the plain
so full of orange-colored leaves.
At the same time, above flying around
I hear the melodious twittering
Of warblers and colored chaffinches,
Whilst above clouds rush
Chasing each other.
Below a rainbow shimmer
amongst the hills.
Oh what splendour!
No wind will spoil my affectations
It feels as if heaven has descended
As children played around.
Oh how joyous is their laughter.
So why do you wonder
I feel in ecstasy?

Hello Victor ... if we take the time to enjoy the natural offering that nature provides, then surely we lose ourselves in ecstasy. I feel your verse provided this - thank you Victor - Lindsay

Wonderful verse Victor. And love the pic. We get full double rainbows here on the prairies too. Absolutely love them. Rainbows are one of my favorite things. To me they are a promise from God that the trouble is over. Good stuff here my friend. God Bless, JB

Victor, what a magnificent poem! We may recognize ecstasy anyplace we should want to contemplate it, in colors, songbirds, blossoms, and woods, and in all else that nature has to give! Blessings, and Happy Thanksgiving
