Ecstasy

ECSTASY

Ecclesiastical euphoria
Cavorting openly - unadorned
Satisfactions saviored glee
Testifying, swaying in the dance of
Actualized beliefs
Spiritualized in
Yearning

A different take on this theme, John...a spiritual/religious ecstasy, never experienced it in person, but have seen it documented on film. Full marks for its content and uniqueness. // paul

Interesting write, John. Sometime that euphoria in the ecclesiastical realm leads to mayhem and chaos....Great write. Thanks for your comment on my poem. It isn't for the contest, but I posted a response though I'm not sure I quite got the gist of your comment.

"the muse" always tends to evade being placed in a box by the contest titles and suggestions. I consider "interesting" a very positive response to poetry. thanks for your continued support Eileen, always appreciated.

yeah, ecstasy is defined as a religious frenzy or trancelike state. So I took that road.

Thanks Janice I wasn't too sure how this take on ecstasy would be received.

oh YES< this I have seen portrayed in movies. They don't get this way in the church I was brought up in What a unique approach!! Not a topic I'd probably ever be caught doing but I appreciate its message.

one of the definitions of Ecstasy - an emotional or religious frenzy or trancelike state. And the muse was off and writing

thanks for the sweet remark on my Cynosure poem. I hope you know that is a fantasy man I invented through time, a combination of a few old flames I used to have!! Now let me see this Ecstasy poem. One I fear may fill up before I can think of something cool to do!!
