Notes About The Poem

Ebony Sea

Swift nibbles, tentative licks
     small diamonds of broken moonlight
          on ebony waves
               symphony playing with my toes

                    Silent yellow light
               quick curious pouting lips
          and bites, silvery little
     fishes around my legs

A wish to push far into the black
                   seduction, to sleep there
                   evermore
To kiss a final poem, disintegrate
           into filaments and atoms
           join and surrender

Very evocative poem, Darren. Visions of night pleasure. Absolutely sensuous, as Maureen said. Stunning work. You prick the heart w/your words. Well done, my friend. Love always

Beautiful write Darren, and beautiful pairing. It is a very sensuous poetic passing you have painted with your words, of death or perhaps la petite mort.

Lovely imagery Darren, right down to the ripple pattern you have created with the words. The music you have chosen is a perfect accompaniment to suit the poetry.

Yes, I love the music too, it took a while before I found the music I thought was perfect. Thank you Maria :)

I appreciate you searching out my poem. I wrote another piece called "Dark Lover" which might lend more to what you felt writing your piece. This is a fine piece of writing you have here Darren. Worthy of several 7s

I felt the hypnotic pull of the water as I read this piece. I wrote a piece titled "Your Ocean" I think you would appreciate it.

Exactly! That is how I experience the sea. Always, but especially at night. I will go read your poem, thank you Richard :)

Absolutely enchanting my friend. This poem takes me to another place, allowing me to feel the comfort and peace offered by the sea and the night sky. The quiet and serene moments that give us time to reflect. This was gorgeous.

Thank you Chris, I added music to it now :) And yes, that was absolutely what I intended, I never wanted to scare anyone.

"Symphony playing with my toes" Darren how amazed I am at your ability to contemplate with serenity, peace, and love death itself. That reminded me of a very poignant scene out of 'Soylent Green' where Edward G. Robinson (Sol) is euthanized. He was dying of terminal cancer and passed shortly after the movie was finished. Amitiés

Aw, I am young, but I love Soylent Green :) I don't know what it is Anne-Marie, but when you have been close to dying, it's not so frightening anymore. I just have to be more aware of the fact that this is not the case for everyone.....

I love the feel and MOTION of this one, curiously though, I don't find it dark at all but strikingly beautiful instead! And I adore the image you selected!

I am really happy you don't find it too dark :)
