Eavesdropping In the Next Booth

I want your husband she told me.
So, I laughed and said, “come and get him.”
There is loud laughter.
Totally curious, I have to walk past their booth now
To see what these women look like
I really want to sit down with them to figure out which voice
goes with whom.

Oh my. Sometimes I think it better not to hear so much. I wear hearing aids, so I pick up conversations across a restaurant. It is annoying most of the time, but other times, it is fascinating, and I don't want to talk with whomever I'm having dinner with so I can listen! Often I hear things I really don't want to hear!

This is a great reason to eat alone in a restaurant, pretending to read.
