“Eating Religion at Midnight”
Saw Big Edith at the laundry mat,
Says she’s got a bad case of stage fright,
But she’s big and bad by all accounts,
Saw her eating religion at midnight.
Now Big Edith, she spit on the ground,
Pissed off she can’t sing no more,
And now she sleeps alone under the moonlight,
Ain’t no way she’s anybody’s whore,
Saw her eating religion at midnight.
Look at Big Edith, she dancing like a star,
She’s finding karma with taps and strings,
She’s finding love in the backseat of a blue car.
She’s shuffling cards backwards in the candlelight,
Saw her eating religion at midnight.
Big Edith, she flirts again at the brake house,
She’s flashing rings for the cheating men,
She’s told her sob story with fake tears,
Now Big Edith is dancing again.
She’s finding salvation with a cross and a spear,
She’s big and bad, and quite erudite,
Saw her eating religion at midnight.
