Easy To See Sentinel
The widow's walk planks worn thin
A dark shadow paces in time
As each ship struggles past the rock
A bride swiftly up the steps climb
As the storm thrashes upon it
The lighthouse continues to beam
Though the ocean is tossed, sailors
Can still of home and brides dream
Silt from ocean's bottom is stirred
As the bride watches the fierce storm
Holding onto the lighthouse's promise
Her anxious thoughts tossed in this rainstorm
With the strength of lighthouse's structure
She lets anxiety swiftly flee
Her love will be guided by the light
That shines for all to easily see
Inspired by Eve Roper's contest Sentinel Quatrain Form
