Easy

How quickly

We fall prey to love

Devoured whole by the need to be needed

No matter how long or high or thick the walls

No matter the time spent in isolation building them, formidable

They crumble to dust with but a whisper of hope

Of love and the needs attached

At its mercy

Forever.
