Easter Sonnet
SONNET for the PASTOR on EASTER DAY
The tale that you retold from ancient time
To many now would seem of little moment
Yet your art gave it life, a mental chime
That rang in heart and mind harmonics potent
With words while unaffected yet profound
That resonated cerebral with sentience
You aroused a curiosity spellbound
On questions transcendental in their essence
Your warmth as of this sunny Easter Day
And clarity as in a cool Spring stream
A sustenance to heart and mind conveyed
To give us cause to contemplate the meme
Did God take human form without exemption
Confront death then rise and give to us redemption?
