Easter
We did not gather on this day,
No one was asked to sing or pray,
No candles lit, no Easter dress,
No cleaning up the children's mess,
There was no preacher in the stand,
No reaching out to touch a hand,
A prayer request we did not hear,
Today the world was gripped with fear.
A Christian's world now felt so strange,
One thing for sure that did not change,
Amidst the feel of loss and doom,
We celebrate that empty tomb,
He still arose, He's still the man,
The future still led by his hand,
So none was lost on this great day,
Just honored in a different way,
This cloud will pass the sun will shine,
And for awhile we'll all be fine.
