Earthquake

Those were moments indeed very opaque In my office room beside the green lake Although I felt an uneasy headache Yet I was engaged at the leave or take With a flood of words like ladder and snake For the funny monorhyme contest’s sake It was then that arrived the ghostly shake On the chair of mine of fibre glass make My boss yelled, “What are you doing, please wake We are into a terrible earthquake” Quickly I ran out in a speed breakneck Grudgingly ignoring the coffee break ______________________________________________________________ 24 August, 2016: For Take The Dagger From My Heart, Please - Poetry Contest Contest: Sponsored by: Broken Wings. Thank you ... Nothing frightening at this age ... that apart, there have been four tremors in last 18 months here ... Kolkata has become temblor prone ... thousands of very high rises ... concrete jungle ... anyway, thank you for the concern you expressed ....

Oh, my gosh - you were writing poetry when the quake came. I experienced my first about 4 years ago and don't care to 'feel' another. Hope all is well! Your poem is most clever, creative and enjoyable ... CayCay

Telling a story when creating a monorhyme is the best Probir and you have done that splendidly! ; )

An earthquake is not a laughing matter. In June 1990 I was in Iran , Teheran and there was an earthquake 7.2 magnitude that lasted for 40 seconds which resulted into 65000 dead! I lived through many earthquakes: 7,2, 6.2, 5.6, and so on the experience first hand I had make me feel very sorry for the victims anywhere in the world and pray for them! Your Monorhyme, my friend, Probir, is an excellent one. I wished the earthquake in Italy to never had happened! A seven!
