Earthday/Gulf of Mexico

Celebrate!!
Oil for all!!
Bring a cup
Have your fill!!
Black gold for all!!

Pelicans are oil coated,
Ready to fry!
Black moon sand is
Free for all!!

The oil is still
Lingering on
Alaska's shore
Twenty-one years later
Clean up of the
Exxon-Valdez spill, still not clean!!

Dear politicians please help!!!

The oil still flows like black death!

Well said, done Doris. The second shoe to drop on the Gulf will be if they don't contain/clean this mess before hurricane season, I shudder to think of the additional havoc it will release if they get one in the Gulf. Having potable drinking water for the entire coast comes immediately to mind. JT

Yes, and above this, it's another excuse for the other oil companies to go up. Isn't that weird. One messes up and the the rest get rich. Funny world this US of A. Good write. Thank you for recent comments on my poetry Charles

Clever and powerful message, Doris. It may be decades before the Gulf of Mexico is the pristine area it was before the oil spill. We appear to have learned little from the Exxon-Valdez incident. Now we just sit and wait for the oil to approach the shoreline. Excellent poem! Love, Carolyn
