Early Morning Meadow

Just close your eyes and listen
Can you hear that tranquil sound.
The grass growing in the meadow,
The birds singing all around.
If you listen very carefully
You can hear the rustle of the trees,
Carried across the meadow,
By the gentle breeze.
Nothing can be more refreshing
Than the waking of a new day,
Wild flowers opening in the morning sun
When the clouds have blown away.
I'm sure I can hear the grass grow,
The wild animals watching me.
If their wondering what I'm doing,
Spoiling their tranquility.
So I had better go and leave all this
With a lightness in my heart,
But I will return again tomorrow
For the fresh new start.

Wonderful poem and advice, Simon. 'Just close your eyes and listen!' There is so much going on that closed eyes and wide-open eyes awakens us to. Great write. Thanks, Gershon
