Early Birds

Early Birds…

The early birds sing in unison
A song of sadness, they’ve caught no worm
The frozen ground, now they won’t come around
They can’t break through the surface…

Patiently waiting,
Opportunity will come…
The songbirds sing; it’s a happy thing
Now with the warmth of the rising sun
Spring gives them thaw
So the early birds may catch their worms…
