Image result for pictures from The Glass CastleA movie I saw recently on DVD tape, "The Glass Castle".

The wind whipped the tree Contained hive of bees Resiliency unfolded Inside hollow heart Lessons learned an art In the crushed heart, they're molded Hunger and pain reigned Relationships strained A child had to take the lead To meet their desires While inside hope fires Became successful indeed

Through hunger and hardship, they learnt the lessons of resilience. It is hearty to know that a child became the savior. Adversities are not a curse in themselves, they give us many lessons for future well being. A poem that gives us hope... hope that redemption is possible even in dire situations.

Valsa, I ordered the book (used one) as well and have just finished reading it. It was a little different from the movie, but it was eye opening for me how the children overcame such adversity and were successful. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Dear Sara, I very much enjoyed your reflection on resilience and the complexities of growth. I love how you intertwine themes of hunger and pain with the strength that emerges from hardship. I think your imagery of a hollow heart being molded into something beautiful speaks volumes about the human experience. Sara this is such a heartfelt piece for it truly shows the journey of overcoming adversity! Autumn Blessings, My Dear Fiend, Daniel

What is the movie you are discussing in comment below. My family was blended and quite dysfunctional. It's probably more the norm these days than ever

Hello, Andrea. Yes, sometimes some families are dysfunctional and turn out okay. Some don't. The movie was "The Glass Castle" made from the book "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls. I am sure you have seen it since you see so many movies. Sara K

I don't know when it was made, Paula. She wrote the book which was released in 2005, and the movie was released in 2017. I just ran across it in ones that I had bought long ago and wanted to refresh my memory by watching it again. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Some children have to grow up, perhaps they do with practical things but their hearts are broken and need mending. Good one, Sara!

Yes, Kim, life sometimes issues out some hard blows for some children. Things happen that should never have happened to anyone let alone a child. Thanks for the visit. Sara K
