Dying in his arms I remember everything How he made me safe As we searched among the stars Far away from planet earth. Distanced by visors Each breath a deadly struggle An indigo sky’s Three moons look down upon us My life force dissipating. Panic in his eyes Our situation hopeless Thoughts are all of him Remembering everything As the darkness closes in. Confused, where am I? Strong arms hold me tight Breathing shared air together We are alone ~ no rescue Facing unknown together.
Below is a revised edition of the poem. I thought there was room for improvement. It was a tricky write.
FACING UNKNOWN TOGETHER Dying in his arms I remember everything Our great adventure. Far away from earth We explored the galaxy Mysteries revealed. Curiosity The force that drives us always This was our downfall. On a blue planet We met predestination Distanced by visors. Panic descending Remembering everything Struggling for each breath. Confused where am I? Breathing shared air together Alone, no rescue.
