Dust
Dust
I open the creaky door
Light floods the dark room
Dust… all the eye can see
Dust… clogs up that old heater
That makes deep moaning sounds
The jacket and shoes in the musty, moldy oak wood wardrobe
Consumed by dust
Clusters of dust bunnies scurry over the floor
To a child’s room
Where wooden toys litter the floor
The antique bureau top
Covered in thin layers of dust
Ceiling fan blade turned grayish white
From decades of grime
I walk through the hallway
Dust irritates my nose and throat
I quietly sneeze
Sleeping particles are disturbed in their deep slumber
I walk to the door
The floor boards groan and grumble
Once again I step out in to the gleaming sunshine
Goodbye Dust
Goodbye Dust
