Dust

Dust
airborne
can settle
everywhere
It lands on tables and under your bed
It also clings to your computer screen
on clothes it goes
and of course
up your
nose

Pets
people
in your food
not in the mood
In the air, everywhere, I don’t care
You can have it mop, cloth, feather duster
I don’t want it
here or there
not one
bit

So
go clean
all over
dust if you must
Scratch me a note of “clean me” on my shelf
If I dust today it will just come back
everywhere
it settles
in my
home

this made me smile so much, Shani! Haha can definitely relate; pesky dust and haha! I actually did that, writing "clean me" on a dusty piece of furniture... enjoyed this one Shani, it even has a hint of Seuss in there, which I really liked :) Congrats on your win! :D haha my captcha is cute, it says-- wuvz!

Why, thank you Mike...and everyone. This was my first of this form of poetry. I am using the BTYL method of dusting...blow through your lips...

I like this poem. I don't believe I have ever written one in this style. I am basically a rhythm and rhyme sort of guy. I will have to read more of your poems now. Mike

Shani, this is an amazing tetractys. I have the same problem with dust and suspect many people will relate to this. Chuckled reading about the "clean me" note. I keep a Swiffer duster on my desk! To my favorites as a poem and you as a poet (if you're not already there). I'm so glad you joined Poetry Soup. Your words never disappoint and it's a pleasure to read work of this quality. A winner for sure! Love, Carolyn

I really like this one. One of best I saw today in this poetry style. And your topic reminded me of the ottava rima I recently posted about the war against germs!
