Dusk
As dusk dims a cobalt sky,
stars unveil their timid light.
And a sanguine sun feigns death
as shadows morph into night.
Clouds gather into a shroud
edged in magenta and gray.
And night's curtain slowly drops,
announcing the end of day.
Merging with body and soul,
myth and reality meet.
And depositing dewdrops,
moist breezes offset the heat.
Creatures of dusk awaken
in a world that's very still.
For silence is its loudest
when wildlife bends to its will.
