Dune Dream

I lift the black veil to gently reveal her beautiful face: mystery no more, brought to the fore, shy maidenly gaze; deep eyes ebony, whispering softly, desert habibi; long time I waited to quiet this need, on the sands we lay; under a pale moon alone in the dune, lovers communion. Then screams the FM signaling the morn, alas, just a dream! ‘Habibi’ is an Arabic word of endearment meaning 'beloved', 'sweetheart' or 'dearest'.

Now, if you were a sailor, she would have been the one waking up and thinking she was dreaming. Vince

I'm laughing again at Sean's post! This poem was so romantic, had touches of Rudolph Valentino, until the blast of the FM at the end! Shoot...wasn't ready for the dream to be over!! Cute way to cool us off! ~ Carrie
