Notes About The Poem

Drunken Moon

tonight's horizon
slices the moon into two---

                wounds are licked by waves

Carrie, I finally made my way down here.... By far this was my fav. Since I first laid eyes, on this reflection, I felt every sore, aching for another moonlight. Congratulations on your Drunken Moon haiku win. Always & Forever ~LINDA~

Really beautiful, Carrie! A very unique take on this theme. 'Wounds left in the waves' is so emotional...but fortunately salt helps to heal the wounds! Congrats on your top spot win:) // paul

If anyone tops this I'll be amaze..... Carrie, why didn't I come up with the slice in two moon imagery. The way you end the haiku is deeper than the sea.... Love this. A high 7, plus. .. I'm jealous. Hugs....
