Drugs

Drugs Drugs can kill, but users don't care. They will use them anyway. Maybe it is not that they don't care - it's that they are hooked and can not stop. What can we do to stop this, when everyday kids die of an overdose? The drug dealers are making all the money and killing our young people in the process. A person's life to them means nothing. It isn't only young kids that use drugs. Grown ups use them too. They already know what they are doing, but it's a sin when they give them to kids. You can find drugs in schools, in the place of work, or around the corner of your house. They are almost everywhere. At the end we all lose. The kids start stealing from their parents, or they go robbbing people in the streets. I am not perfect, nor claim to be. In my younger years I used to smoke ciigaretts and drink every now and then. But soon found out that it got me nowhere. I believe we should get more involved in our children's lives, because if we don't someone else will...

Hi Andrew; Thanks for reading my poem. I always said that the government one way or another has always been involved. It's all about power and money. I have two other poems here on this subject. Marriage Creed and Her name was Cocaine. I shall visit you later.

After being addicted it's very difficult to stop with that it's true. If the children are not educated properly, then our society will always bear with such environment even in future. So all the aged people have moral duty to the society to take care of themselves first to educate the children to make the world better place for them. It's true that this world is always safe for civilized people only. Lovely green message to the world you have given here. Loved always, my lovely friend, bl

That is the truth. The people that use these drugs, or sell them, ruin their livesa one way or another.

This is a wonderfully written write my friend! I understand this completely, I never did anything like that, but my sister and brother both have done drugs and alcohol at a young age. And one just now is starting to come clean...she almost went to jail for it! She realized it wasn't worth the high(a slim one a that she said) What a glorious piece, Great Work!!

I am glad that you did not do that, neither did I, but some of my grandkids and a couple of my nephews did. They are doing good now, but the lesson was hard. That is why I write about this. Thank you for understanding.... Lucilla

Thank you Tim. I write this type of poems, because I have seen people with this problem, includeing some family members. That made the whole family suffer.

I think there is great, sound advice in your last stanza. As a struggling and recovering addict myself, I know all too well the pitfalls, perils, desperation and sorrow that accompanies drug abuse. I started experimenting with drugs when I was 15 but didn't enter addiction until my 20's and it's been a difficult journey. Kudos on this write :)

Thank you for reading my poem. You are very brave to come out and admit that you were a victim. I am glad that you had the courage to change and Jesus must have been holding you from your hand. God bless you.

I sure hope so. I have seen many parents suffer a lot because of their kids addiction. Even though we care, sometimes we are the last ones to find out.
