You started this off simple enough It's not like pot is a drug Certainly can't do any harm And after all it's natural You take a few puffs with a few of your friends With no way of knowing you won't be content You've heard it leads to stronger things You say maybe for them but not for me But then you are offered a little pick me up As you're standing in line for a line of the stuff It's only for fun it's not like you need So you do a toot with the attitude of take it or leave Then a friend says to you have you tried pills with booze And you spend the whole night without an inkling or clue Of where you are going or where you have been Be careful of who you tend to call friend Before you know you're left with little hope Would anything have change if only you'd known And to think this started off simple enough After all it's not like pot is a drug
