Driving Force
Sweet memories of her remain
since she stopped by my desk that day
and saw my artwork clear and plain,
amazed that I could draw that way.
A nun, fourth grade, she hugged me tight
and said to me, "you're gifted, dear."
Through many years, she gave me light;
my art teacher...she shaped my sphere.
The feeling she left me is strong;
her driving force...my gift...lifelong.
