Drinking Buddy

Walking down the street not far
She would grab me by the arm
And together we’d walk
The little stroll

Up the street
and down stairs below
I’ll always regard
the togetherness she showed

Proudly walking
So all would know
My possession
This would glow

My love would never
Fail to show
Why I left I’ll never know
Neither could let love just grow

How sad this makes me
I’ll never know
from time to time
I’m reminded so

Of what I missed
That fate had stole
Another lost chance
To fulfill a goal

If I could I’d go back in time
Strengthen the thread
That made her mine
Make a vow that made it a crime

Make sure she’d know
The very next time
I would not leave her
without first dying

Was it maybe for thinking of her as a possession that things went sour? There are a lot of fish in the sea, however, so hope you get a good catch

I think people who say, "To love and lose is better than never to have loved at all," need to read these words.

The bittersweetness of this situation resonates in a beautifully melancholic and yet tenderly romantic manner. Her heart was shattered by your departure, leaving behind an indelible mark of sorrow.
