Driftwood

Neither action nor inaction
Simply driftwood
Out of control
Nowhere to go
A message in a bottle
Too late for that
Written with stardust
It's just wanderlust
Old memories
Older than the trees
It clearly meant something
But to nobody
So odd the passage of time
So slow but so fast
And painfully unforgiving
A here today
Gone tomorrow type of thing
It's just a big circle
This rushing river
Start over
Too late for that
A message in a bottle
Nowhere to go
Out of control
Simply driftwood
Neither action nor inaction

You've summarised that downbeat, weary, fed up feeling that we all experience from time to time perfectly.
