Drew Wants To Know
Sometimes I get to wondering, why?
Almost any old subject will do,
For I have one of those curious minds
Like a three-year-old named Drew
Sometimes he tugs on my trousers
And stares up into my cloudy eyes,
Like he thinks I can answer anything
When I can’t, I hear disappointed sighs
I asked why he thought I would know
Why the sky is blue, the grass is green
And he, without hesitation, replied,
“Papa, from all those years you've seen!”
