Dreams Grow

The gardener
Hands dirty
Digging earth for new seed
Looked up
As the afternoon sun
Cast a shadow
Making a handsome profile

She looked
Captivated by the toil
Seduced by the sweat
His effort to nourish
And grow
She sighed
Enamored by his presence

It was he all along
As she watched
Each day
This man
Who had no name
He took her
To where the wildflowers grow
