Dreams Disappear With the Light of Day
In the silence of night, my dreams will come
Some will be happy and some will be sad
Some so violent they will leave me numb
Some are the happiest I’ve ever had.
Often I dream of both parents alive
Most times I dream not of reality
But reach back in time, for love to revive
When as a child I sat safe at their knee.
Often nightmares come, filling me with dread
I wake in a sweat, my heart racing fast
Then I calm myself and clearing my head
Go back to sleep knowing the fear won’t last.
Dreams disappear with the light of the day
They’re only this… your subconscious at play.
