Author's Notes: "Dreaming of Nature’s Love So Rare" is a co-write / co-authored poem by Gary Bateman and Liam McDaid. Our purpose with this poem, rendered in 10 unrhymed Tercet sequential stanzas (with a varied syllabication schema), is to portray a series of dream-like sequences as a person (i.e., the narrator) is standing in a remote forested area of hills and valleys and begins to attentively and thoroughly observe the most wondrous and beautiful everyday pleasures that Mother Nature herself brings into this world we call our home: Earth. Every sight, smell, touch, sound, and any associated mystical or magical events this narrator observes forms the essential metaphor of this poem, to wit: “All of the events discussed result in a unified Dream of One associated with nature’s love so very special or rare.” At least this was our mutual thematic intent and attempt with this particular poem.
