Dreamer and the dreamed

Listen to poem:
Written: February 19, 2025 For contest Sponsored by: Unseeking Seeker Line of inquiry: as an entity in the dream, we conjured we know not we are both the dreamer and dreamed how then may we wake up when we are in trance in bondage to illusions we ourselves streamed ************************* Through the scenery of my reflected mind, Where phantasm and sentience intertwined. I clumber caught in an inanimate dream, Where nothing is genuinely what it may seem. We are creators and thralls in this dreamscape, We foster a weaving of sycophancy and serape. Many fallacies entwine with each strand of truth, As skeptics, we lack a grasp on what is smooth. Perhaps it's time to question what we hold as real, To probe the depths of our collective, waking feel. Only when we confront the truth we made, Can we begin to shatter the illusions we parade? Reflections shimmer on the spectrum glass, Where restrictions of existence gingerly pass. Subtly blending jointly, the dreamer and dream, Where illusions' constraints begin to stream. Am I profoundly watching or am I the watcher? Without a grounding, afloat as a space monster. The self breaks down within a specific design, Where exterior limits and inner sublimity shine. Through the blackness and the splitting light, Coming out of the shadowy shapes of our plight. We probe the bedrock character of our state, Also, stimulates every dubbed conceptual gate. And so we rise, as a phoenix from flames, With eyes ajar, and hearts no longer tamed. We grasp a raw world, with a vision clear and bright, And as the sojourn is sturdy, we'll walk into the light.

Exceptional Lasaad. another example of a genius theme created by you in the dream state of experience. Your words are cleverly chosen to convey the emotional reality of some frightening dream Not knowing if it is reality or just a state of mind. Loved how you came up with this unique theme. I really can appreciate the theme in its creation in your mind. In my humble opinion that is where it all starts. The words follow and you as a writer have an uncanny ability to manifest these themes. So...

SP, you did a great job with this. The question of what dreams mean is really fascinating. I'm a follower of Erich Fromm's Forgotten Language, where he describes that the ancients who were great dream interpreters would be horrified at our illiteracy in this area. There are indeed a lot of events stored in our memory, and the processing and symbology of dreams reveal a great deal about what's happening in there...that is if we take time to explore it! Smiles!!

Theres so much wisdom embedded in such a poetic manner in your poem. I especially loved “ Am I profoundly watching or am I the watcher? Without a grounding, afloat as a space monster.” That speaks volumes and how youv questioned there is very powerful and we as readers can feel thoughts emotions and experiences youve delivered here on a spiritual level! Dreamer and dreamed intertwine through illusion and reality. Introspective poem in search of the truth. In the end truth wins.
