Dream On
It's like that Aerosmith song,
you have to capture it, feel
it melt in your palms. that
true gold, the things you did
that everyone said you couldn't
you chased it, even when you knew
you were far behind in this everlasting
competitive race. when you got knocked
down, but picked up your shattered ego
and trudged on. you were told you weren't
good smart, strong or good enough to
capture it. you've smelt the pure jealousy
of those that have knocked you down,
because you choose to rise over and over
again. Sure you've doubted yourself along
the way, thought about giving in, thought
you wouldn't make it to the finish line. You
began seeing yourself as the failure they
see you as. Just when you start to believe
that everyone was right, you've come to a
point when you have to choose between whom
you want to be and who they want you to be.
You have to keep being you and never cease
to stop, because dreams are reachable, even
when they seem lost in the stars.
