Dream Life
Dreams morphing and shifting, in a colorful abyss
Giving rise to your eyes of Hazel, glowing
Pulling me deeper into the depths of sleep
Where I fly among the heavens and my imagination leaps.
Diving, twisting, creating,
I am drawn onward through the mists
Of this dream life I live.
These thoughts and scenes I wish to keep.
All things one has forgotten scream for help in dreams.
Screams frozen in time like the tundra of Iceland.
Bold dreams told of gold found in the hold of a fold.
And now I dream of gold.
But everything that glitters is not gold.
This dream, this chimera is changing fast.
I stir, trying to move and prod, to amimate this thing along,
Knowing I might forego these stirring scenes.
I wish to return to your happy eyes,
But find I am running on empty.
This illusion is fading, the image won't hold.
Emptiness greets me, vacant, bare.
