Drawl

drawl

slow, easy, breathy,
like butterscotch in the sun.
flows across the air
clings languidly to the ear.
throaty whispers rise like scent.

Hi Patricia: Beautiful tanka! Especially the butterscotch in the sun.

Boy, this one is wreaking havoc with my caffeine-fueled morning brain! ;-) Maybe I should have let that coffee languish in the cup a little longer. Sorry, sillies have kicked in. I shall never hear another drawl without it sticking to my disgustingly deaf ears. Somewhere in this mass of words is "I enjoyed this 'un!" ~ j
