Drat That Drought --Contest: Acrostic

DRAT THAT DROUGHT Relinquish water's recipe and rain from sky. All rain dances done left California dry. Ignited fires baked us like a Scottish mutton pie. Now let us wash it down with RAIN and not with rye. -Edlynn Nau © November 9, 2015 Contest: Wind, Snow, or RAIN [AcrostRain] Sponsor: Jan Allison PLACED: SECOND PLACE

Hi Ralph! I just got this! I'm very behind in my reads and haven't had time to write since November. Life can be a tangle sometimes! Thank you for your comments and I hope to catch up soon & stop in to have a read of your work.

Thank you Ralph. The rain is our planet's blood and our life! Adore it seasonally. Hated it every day for 9 mos while living in WA. We need to pipeline this liquid gold (like we did oil) from them that's got to them that doesn't ! Ha.

Jan still hasn't judged this or it just isn't showing up on my listing. This was due in before Thanksgiving. I bet the poor dear got a million of these! Ha!

Thank you so much! What a huge compliment. I never feel brilliant, just possessed. Ha! I'm sorry to take SO LONG to reply. I'm terribly behind on all my reading. I'm docking down writing ideas but no time for art just now. Bothersome!

Why thank you for your thoughtful comment! I am pleased to meet you and will be reading more of your work! It is always so nice when someone leaves a note as you know) we get so many more readers than those that drop in! Thank you for your high rating too!

Oh, I just also noticed that you wrote AcrostRain, focusing on rain inside the word. Clever idea as clever as your cute poem. You need to make the title (at the very top) be Rain Acrostrain; otherwise it might be eliminated. Hope not though. This is so nice.

Got the title changed AND STILL working on new tiles for Sleep with This Sky. Have several ideas but there has been some debate on the change. Too funny!

Thanks for the tip! You are ALWAYS SO HELPFUL and I love that about you. Will fix that. Didn't see that the contest "required" name of contest be the title of the poem. Most will say that! Must have missed it! Glad for those good eyes!

Ha...well we only get four lines & CA hasn't had Snow, Wind, or Rain. Thus the drought idea. I'm stopping by your porridge by the weeks end.

We're heading for another drought in my part of the world, so I can feel this poem. I hope we both get the rain we need.

. . . And some TRULY think our planet isn't in trouble or that global warming is a lie...a denial of the deadly kind.

New Zealand is home for me, we had a very hard drought last year and we are heading down the same road again this year. Hardly anything through the winter, and while it is a spring green at the moment the dust is starting to billow. Yuck

Me too Mak? Where are you so dry? We've had three rains now in NorCal. Great! It is THE AREA of the THREE MAJOR CA Fires. So now do we Evac for falling trees & landslides after an entire season where our entire county was outnumbered by firemen? Sigh! Thanks SO MUCH for stopping in & I ALWAYS return the grace.
