Downgrade

Black umbrella pupils
Unfurling as my lips
Hold my tongue hostage
Your arms batter my heart's door
Howling winds ripping the roof
Off all our broken promises
But then your lashes shuttered stuck
As my fingers danced in your rain
Your lips downgraded
A hurricane

------
Knew it was a matter of time before I wrote a hurricane poem. Hurrah for being a Floridian.
Downgrading storms= storm weakens/ends
