Down With the Sunset

I'm sure time slowed
Because to me it stopped
The fiery colored sky
Was gentle to the rising night
Even gentler to me
It had no reason to be
But like lovers it treated me
My eyes followed the flow
Of the waves as they come and go
God bless where the water kissed my toes
My sins must have been forgiven then
Because of the peace I felt
I had wanted to jump in
Not to drown, I could swim
But I wanted to lose my breath
To catch it again
A rebirth at sunset
